Churches showing insensitivity towards those whose loved ones are buried on their plots of tax-free land seems to be constantly in the local news here in the UK. But the comments made by the Diocese of Bath and Wells made me almost spit my coffee all over my keyboard.

Baptist bookstore pulls magazine featuring female pastors

Lifeway Christian stores pulled the magazine, “Gospel Today” as the magazine does not fit with the Southern Baptists Convention on the role of women in the church. The feature was on five female pastors and documented their stories and struggles as life as a female pastor.

Of course the bible is clear on the instructions to women:

“Woman should be silent during the church meetings. They are not to take part in the discussion, for they are subordinate to men as the Scriptures also declare. If they have any questions to ask, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is improper for women to express their opinions in church meetings.” - 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, Living Bible
